Aragón, the strategic gateway for large-scale tech and advanced industry investment in Europe.

Between November 2025 and February 2026, Aragón has reinforced its position as one of Southern Europe’s most attractive destinations for large-scale technology and advanced manufacturing investment.
In just four months, the region has secured landmark projects across semiconductors, digital infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace, confirming Aragón’s growing relevance within the European industrial and digital landscape.

€1 Billion semiconductor investment: Diamond Foundry

U.S. based Diamond Foundry has announced a €1 billion investment to establish a manufacturing plant for synthetic diamond wafers in Zaragoza, a strategic semiconductor component for high-performance chips.

The project, described as the largest semiconductor-related investment in Spain, will create 300 highly qualified jobs and strengthens Aragón’s role in Europe’s semiconductor value chain.

€3.9 Billion digital infrastructure project: Box2Bit

Box2Bit has announced a €3.9 billion investment to develop a new data center campus in Zaragoza. This large-scale infrastructure further consolidates Aragón as a strategic location for cloud services, AI workloads, and high-performance computing.

The region’s industrial land readiness continues to attract hyperscale and digital infrastructure investors.

AWS expands circular economy operations: €200 million additional investment

Amazon Web Services (AWS) will invest an additional €200 million in Aragón to build a facility dedicated to refurbishing servers and racks throughout the lifecycle of its data centers.

The project will generate 900 to 1,100 direct jobs, reinforcing Aragón’s capacity not only for digital infrastructure deployment but also for advanced industrial activities linked to the data economy.

The region’s industrial land readiness continues to attract hyperscale and digital infrastructure investors.

Automotive supply chain expansion: CAIP

Chinese group Jiangsu Changshu Automotive Trim Group (CAIP) will invest €24 million to manufacture interior components for electric vehicles in Aragón, creating around 100 jobs.

The project strengthens the region’s automotive ecosystem and its integration into global electric mobility supply chains.

Why Aragón?

These announcements build upon nearly €80 billion in cumulative investment linked to data centers and the digital economy in recent years.

International investors are choosing Aragón because of:

President Azcón leads strategic U.S. mission to position Aragón as Europe’s next digital investment Hub

Aragón positions itself as Southern Europe’s digital infrastructure leader on strategic U.S. mission

Seeking to transform Aragón into a premier destination for global technology investment, President Jorge Azcón led a high-level institutional mission to the United States. The visit underscored Aragón’s commitment to becoming a digital infrastructure hub in Southern Europe—a region poised for growth in data, AI, and clean technology. With a clear focus on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), the trip centered on connecting with global leaders in the data center industry and showcasing the region’s competitive advantages.

Learning from the global epicenter of digital infrastructure

President Azcón traveled to Loudoun County, Virginia—home to the highest density of data centers in the world and a model of how digital infrastructure can drive regional prosperity. In Loudoun, data centers support tens of thousands of jobs and generate significant indirect economic benefits. The visit provided valuable insights into how a well-developed data center ecosystem can stimulate regional growth, improve employment, and strengthen long-term economic competitiveness.

As part of the mission, Azcón visited leading facilities operated by QTS Data Centers and Digital Realty, two of the most prominent players in the global data infrastructure space. These visits offered an in-depth view of large-scale data center operations, cutting-edge cooling and energy-efficiency technologies, and workforce development strategies tailored to the digital economy.

The knowledge gained during these site visits will inform Aragón’s own digital strategy, helping ensure alignment between the region’s labor market, education system, and the demands of an innovation-driven economy.

Showcasing Aragón’s investment-ready ecosystem

During the U.S. mission, Aragón’s leadership presented a compelling case for international investment. The region offers a unique combination of advantages: robust infrastructure, abundant renewable energy, competitive energy costs, and a highly skilled talent pool. Strategically located with strong logistical links across Europe, Aragón is positioned as a reliable, scalable, and sustainable base for digital operations.

A strategic vision for global investment

The United States mission reflects Aragón’s long-term strategy to attract investment in high-growth sectors such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and clean energy. By forming strategic global partnerships, leveraging its geographic and energy advantages, and investing in talent and infrastructure, Aragón is shaping a modern, sustainable economy that invites participation from forward-looking investors.

As part of this future vision, Aragón is also advancing its capabilities in artificial intelligence through a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This initiative will create an integrated AI training ecosystem designed to boost digital skills and support the growth of emerging technologies across the region. A key partner in this effort is the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR), which plays a vital role in ensuring the workforce is prepared to meet the demands of the digital economy through academic excellence, research, and close cooperation with industry.

With rising demand for digital infrastructure across Europe, Aragón stands ready to lead—and to deliver value, stability, and innovation to its global partners.
